***THE ANSWER TO SHAME AND GRANDIOSITY***

There is a problem in our world today; humans  may feel shame and believe they are “less than” others  OR, humans feel grandiose and believe they are “better than” others.

When one feels shame, they often feel powerless. When one feels grandiose, they often have a false sense of power. When a person feels shame, they often over-function, give themselves away and never feel they can rest and relax. When a person feels grandiose, they often under-function, they are often “takers” in a relationship and feel they deserve more and more and more.

The problem is both of these positions are simply reactions to not knowing who they truly are. Childhood wounding leads to a person not knowing of their own inherent worth and so they adapt either by learning to feel shame and go “1-down” or learn to feel grandiose and go “1-up”.

When a person does their  inner work and connects to their truest and most authentic self, they automatically know of their inherent worth and they automatically know of the inherent worth of all creation.  Then, a quality of Grace emerges and the person becomes a radiating center of love, compassion, empathy and support. They  know that problems are  meant to be solved, they know that we must work together to solve them and they  know that their life’s purpose is to do all they  can do to solve the problems facing humankind.

Each human is uniquely gifted to do their part. One’s Divine purpose is to  find the intersection between their gifts and a challenge in the world and to use their gifts to solve this problem.  Often, one tries to solve the problem in the world before they have healed enough to connect with their authentic self. (sorry but there is always healing to do before one discovers that which they were seeking was their authentic self that was waiting inside all along).

The song from the movie, Flashdance, tells us to pay attention to our dreams. They are keys to our gifts and our dreams and therefore our purpose,  Here are some key words from this song:

“First, when there’s nothing but a slow glowing dream That your fear seems to hide deep inside your mind…. All alone I have cried silent tears full of pride in a world made of steel, made of stone

Well I hear the music, close my eyes, feel the rhythm Wrap around, take a hold of my heart.

What a feeling,  I can have it all, now I’m dancin’ for my life Take your passion, and make it happen….”

Friends, IF you are willing to discover your dream and the gifts that are waiting for you to use to make your dream come true,  AND if you are willing to give up shame and grandiosity, you will take your place among the great leaders in our world who made a difference.

The question is:  ARE YOU WILLING ?
